CALIBRATION EQUIPMENT
AERO SPACE GRADE ALUMINUM LOAD CELLS
PROPER CALIBRATION TECHNIQUE
Calibration is a service that necessitates special equipment. It needs to be done each time a new Load Monitor is purchased or an existing Load Monitor is moved to another press. Such service is available at a nominal charge, either on a local basis through distributors, agents or by an IMCO factory serviceman.
When a number of IMCO systems are to be calibrated it is suggested that purchasing the Calibration Equipment could be cost effected. Availability of this equipment at all times provides an added bonus of being able to utilize a precision press leveling and load checking device for any machine equipped or not equipped. All Calibration Equipment is certified and traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology which is suitable for certifying equipment for ISO 9000. When Calibration Equipment is purchased Certificate of Traceability are issued for System 1000 and Aero Space Grade Aluminum Load Cells.
DYNAMIC LEVELING
Dynamic leveling of the press makes IMCO systems readings, through calibration and using load cells, accurate and precise. The press must be leveled dynamically to obtain an accurate load signal from each piezoelectric transducer to its respective channel on the Load Monitor. A press is dynamic working piece of machinery and must be leveled dynamically under load using Load Cells taking in account slop in bearings or gibs and any type of structural change when press is operating. We do not recommend using a hydraulic jack in place of Load Cells. A hydraulic jack "seeks its own level" which will give a false load reference when calibrating. Whereas when using Load Cells the press is calibrated in the optimum working condition because it has been leveled dynamically and can now be calibrated in a true dynamic working mode.
LOAD CELLS AND METAL SPACER PLACEMENT
SYSTEM 1000-1
The basic System 1000 includes a Load Cell Indicator in a self-contained carrying case complete with handle for ease of transportation, capacitance decade box, 9 values of calibrating capacitors (20 of each value), torque wrench, test bridge for checking systems, power connecting cables and Calibration Manual.
In addition, user is required to purchase appropriate Load Cells used in conjunction with the Load cell Indicator. They are available in the various sizes illustrated and are selected to accommodate different ranges of the users press tonnages. All Load Cells are of light weight aluminum, construction, neatly encapsulated with fool proof cable adaptor. They are clearly labeled showing optimum, load capacity.
Designed for simplicity of the function and use with minimal control knobs, in-plant personnel can readily adapt to using an IMCO Calibration System and Load Cells from factory supplied CALIBRATION MANUAL.
There are certain applications when calibration need not be necessary; when the user is using a small percent of total press capacity and tooling requires the most protection of smaller loads even as low as 5% (five percent). The readings can be enlarged to appear as a 100% load giving greater resolution in protecting the tooling from malfunctions and more accurately determining a good part produced.
SYSTEM 1000-4
System 1000-4 is designed to calibrate four channels without having to move the loads cell to each point to be calibrated. The System can be time saving when calibrating, due to the fact you only set up once. The System comes in a "Zero Company" portable sleek metal, suitcase enclosure with built in Combination Lock for security. All items listed below can be stored securely in the suitcase carrying case. A set of four precision matched Live Load Cells (size depends on requirements) are purchased separately to be used with the System 1000-4. This precision Calibration Equipment is state of the art design and manufactured with high end components.
